Day 1: Dead Horse Ranch State Park
Saturday, February 11, 2017

Clinic: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Fishing: 11:00 AM until dark

Dead Horse Ranch State Park, 675 Dead Horse Ranch Rd. Cottonwood, AZ 86326

Women of all skill levels are invited to participate. Meet and sign in near the ponds Saturday at 10:00 AM for a fly fishing clinic. There will be demonstrations of techniques for fishing the ponds given by volunteers from local fishing clubs, including Cinda Howard, owner and guide at Fly Fish Arizona. If you have never fly fished before, rods, reels, and flies will be available for your use on Saturday. If you are an experienced fly fishing woman, please join us as we spend time together doing what we love, and get to know others interested in this wonderful sport and fresh water conservation.

Lunch on your own in Cottonwood, or bring a picnic lunch. If you are making it a weekend of fishing, overnight accommodations are available at the park and at the motels in Cottonwood.

The park offers camping spaces and sleeping cabins that can be reserved online at:

Day 2: Fishing or Sightseeing – On Your Own|
Sunday, February 12, 2017

This is a whole family event, as there are lots of activities around the area such as antiquing, shopping, and wine tasting in historic downtown Cottonwood and Jerome; and there’s bird watching, hiking, or just relaxing at the park itself.
