OPTU is planning a workday with the US Forest Service in the White Mountains over Columbus weekend October 6-9, 2017. The plan is to put in a number of Willows along the West Fork of the Black River in Thompson’s Meadow South and West of Big lake. We are also helping to put in a couple of Elk exclosures to protect the plantings. It is an area OPTU has done a lot of work in, and paid a lot of attention to over the years. This is an effort to help lower the water temperature and improve the habitat for the Apache Trout.
Plan on making your last trip to the White Mountains with us over Columbus day. Come listen to the elk bugle and the turkey gobble each morning. We are hoping to have a great turn out and will promise a good time, as always. Please feel free to call me or Robin with any questions. We will update everyone as details firm up.
We look forward to seeing you all.
